Learn how to make some delicious Polish food at a cooking demo. Join in a workshop and create your own arts and crafts.

Cooking Demos:

  • Polish Babka Recipe:
  • 1 cup of yogurt – vanilla, natural or vanana from Trader Joe’s
  • 3 cups of flour
  • 2.5 cups of vanilla or plain sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup of canola or sunflower oil3 tsp of baking powderOptional: Powdered sugar for dusting; Raisins or seasonal fruits such as blueberriesAdd all the ingredients into a large mixing bowl. Using mixing spatula or spoon, mix them together very well. If you want to add raisins or fruits, do it now and carefully mix them with the dough. Set the oven for 350F.  Grease your favorite Bundt cake pan well and transfer the dough into it. Place the cake in the oven. Bake for about 50 minutes. Check with a wooden stick if the cake is dry on the inside. When it is ready, carefully remove from the oven and transfer it from the pan onto the cooling rack to cool down for about 15 minutes. Finally, transfer your babka onto a serving plate. Now, you can dust it with powdered sugar! Enjoy!

“Easiest Cake in the World”:

1 cup of flour
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp of baking powder
4 eggs
4 tbsp of oil
Fruits – any seasonal fruits (you could use frozen fruits as well) – about 2 cups
Powdered sugar for dusting
 
Add all the ingredients into a large mixing bowl. Using a mixing spatula or spoon, mix them together very well. If you want to add raisins or fruits, do it now and carefully mix them with the dough.  Set oven for 350F. Grease cake pan and transfer the dough into it. Top the dough with fruits. Place the pan into the oven. Bake for about 50 minutes. Check with a wooden stick if the cake is dry on the inside – make sure you poke the dough in a place where no fruits get in the way.  When the cake is ready, dust it with powdered sugar! Enjoy!

Gołąbki (Cabbage Rolls):

Ingredients for stuffing:
2 pounds pork
2 onions
1 tbs paprika
1 tbs coriander
11/2 cup basmati rice or any other grain buck wheat or any other grains
6 oz tomato paste
Salt pepper to taste

32oz chicken stock or vegetable stock
1 Tbsp of vegetable oil
One big cabbage or two small ones
Sauerkraut to put in the top

Mix stuffing ingredients together. Wrapped it in blanched cabbage leaves and place it in baking pan. Put it in the oven at 350F for two hours.
